These terms describe the Bushidō Book Club Digital Dojo and the approved access plans. They apply to purchases made from the effective date shown on this page.

Consumer cancellation rights and refunds7. Optional cancellation notice8. Participation, materials and recordings9. Help, complaints and updates

1. The club and your account

The club provides online study and discussion of Bushidō, supported by live gatherings, the recordings and materials made available for those gatherings, and the Digital Dojo community. It is philosophical education, not medical care, psychotherapy or a clinical assessment. No particular personal outcome is guaranteed.

An account identifies you and keeps your chosen Dojo, purchases and access history together. Having an account is not itself a paid membership. Access is determined by a confirmed payment and the remaining period of the plan purchased. Content is provided in the English or Portuguese Dojo selected for your account. Contact support if that selection needs correcting.

2. Plans and access periods

7-Day Digital Dojo Pass — £5.90, paid once. It gives seven days (168 hours) of access to the available content and activities in your chosen Dojo. A pass is not an automatically renewing subscription. You may buy it repeatedly. A further purchase during a continuous active pass period adds seven days to the end of that period; otherwise the new period begins when payment is confirmed. Your account shows the confirmed end time.

Monthly membership — £19.90 per month. This is a recurring subscription, billed monthly until cancelled. Annual membership — £190 per year. This is a recurring subscription, billed yearly until cancelled. Each gives access during its confirmed paid period. The first payment is due at checkout; future billing dates are available in your account or the billing portal.

The first free gathering does not automatically become a paid plan. The seven-day pass does not include the separate three-month FORGE subscription benefit. Paid monthly and annual memberships include that benefit under the existing eligibility rules: the complimentary period is three calendar months, active club membership is required, and renewing the club membership does not restart the complimentary period. Continuing FORGE after that period is a separate optional purchase, not an automatic charge arising from the complimentary offer.

Prices are in pounds sterling and the advertised GBP amount is the checkout total. The company has confirmed that it is not currently UK VAT-registered; no additional UK VAT is collected in this launch configuration. Your bank may apply its own currency-conversion fees. Payment methods available for your transaction are shown at checkout. A future website price change does not, by itself, authorise a different charge on an existing subscription.

3. What is available when you buy

Check your Dojo's published programme, dates and available materials before purchasing. The club is preparing to launch: a historical library is built from sessions actually delivered, not from sample or test entries. A recording can only become available after a gathering has taken place and the recording has been prepared. A pass gives access within its time window; it is not a guarantee of a particular number of live gatherings.

The website and gathering page identify the time zone. UK times use Europe/London, including its daylight-saving changes. You need a suitable internet connection, an email account, a current browser and the ability to use the meeting or video provider specified for the session. Any access restrictions or special software requirements must be stated with the relevant content.

If an advertised service cannot be provided or a material change affects your purchase, contact support so that the appropriate remedy can be arranged. Nothing in these terms removes remedies for a service that is not delivered as described.

4. Payment confirmation and keeping a copy

Payment is handled through Stripe. The club records payment references and confirmed access, not your complete card number or CVC. Access is confirmed by the payment provider's notification; a return-page address containing the word success is not proof of payment on its own.

The purchase confirmation identifies your plan and access or billing period. Keep it with the applicable terms. You can print or save this document using the controls above. If payment succeeds but the expected access does not appear, refresh the account status and contact support with the transaction reference. Never send a card number, CVC, password or secret API key to support.

A refunded pass no longer contributes its refunded access period. Where several passes have been bought, the system preserves the remaining legitimately purchased time. A partial refund does not automatically revoke an entire pass. These technical rules do not determine or restrict whether you are legally entitled to a refund.

5. Stopping subscription renewal

Monthly and annual members can use the billing portal from their account to stop automatic renewal. The configured cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, preserving access until then. You may also contact support if you cannot use the portal. There is no need to cancel a seven-day pass to stop future charges because it does not renew automatically.

Switching off renewal is different from asking to cancel a purchase under consumer law or requesting a refund because something is wrong. The portal's end-of-period setting does not remove those rights. Uninstalling an app, leaving a WhatsApp group or simply ceasing to visit the site does not itself cancel a Stripe subscription.

6. Consumer cancellation rights and refunds

For UK consumer distance contracts, the usual statutory cancellation period for services or digital content is 14 days after the day the contract is made, subject to the applicable statutory conditions and exceptions. You do not have to give a reason. To exercise a cancellation right, email support before the period ends, identifying yourself and the purchase. You may use the form below, but it is not compulsory.

Early supply of services and immediate supply of digital content have different rules. At checkout, you are asked to agree to these Terms & Conditions and to immediate access, including the cancellation terms. That confirmation records the request to begin access immediately. It does not remove consumer rights beyond what the applicable law permits.

Where statutory cancellation requires repayment for services or digital content, the refund is made within 14 days of being told of the cancellation, using the original payment method unless another method is expressly agreed, without a refund fee. No blanket non-refundable rule is imposed here. The checkout confirmation is deliberately short; the detail of the cancellation arrangement remains in these Terms.

Your rights when content or services are faulty, not supplied, not as described or not provided with reasonable care and skill are separate from change-of-mind cancellation. These terms do not exclude those rights. Consumers outside the UK retain any mandatory protections that apply in their country; these terms do not promise that one country's cancellation rules replace every other country's rules.

7. Optional cancellation notice

To: THE HEXOLOGY ADVISORY LTD, 14 Palmyra Square North, Warrington, England, WA1 1TA; bushidobookclub@hexology.net.

I give notice that I cancel my contract for the following service or digital content: [plan / purchase reference]. Ordered on: [date]. Name: [name]. Account email: [email]. Address: [address]. Date of notice: [date]. Signature: [only if sent on paper].

You can send an equivalent clear statement by email. Do not include payment-card details.

8. Participation, materials and recordings

Keep your login private and use the access for your own study. Do not distribute protected recordings, members' comments, private meeting links or materials to people who are not entitled to them. Respect other participants, their privacy, and applicable intellectual-property rights. Nothing here claims ownership of public-domain works or restricts uses that the law allows.

Group discussions are visible to other participants; they are not a confidential clinical service. Avoid posting another person's personal information or sensitive information that you do not wish to share. Live gatherings are recorded as community sessions. The recording may include participants' image, voice, displayed name and contributions made during the gathering, and may later be made available inside the Digital Dojo to people whose account has the required access. The gathering page provides a recording notice before the live-meeting link. This does not authorise public advertising or promotional use of a participant's image, voice or comments; any such use requires a separate basis and notice.

9. Help, complaints and updates

Contact bushidobookclub@hexology.net for access, billing, cancellation, accessibility or privacy questions. Include your account email and a brief description of the problem, but not your password or card details.

These draft terms do not limit liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded. They do not require consumers to give up a mandatory right to complain, obtain a remedy or use a competent court.

Changes to the proposed terms will be identified by a new version. Existing purchases and accrued consumer rights are not rewritten merely by changing a web page. The company's confirmed contact details are shown above.
